How To Get To The Top Of Google By Article Writing
By Sheila on May 21, 2008 in Advertising Tips
You can make article writing a key to topping the search engine Google. Here is why this works. Search engines want searchers to have a good experience when they search. That means finding good information easily. So what is good information. Well, it must cover the topic that was searched, and it should also have some indication that it is well regarded by others. That translates into good keyword use and links from other sites to yours.
How to Write Good Articles
Write about what you know. If you write about things you have experience with, you write with more conviction. This makes for better articles and more readers will want to see more of your stuff. And if you don’t know much about a topic, then do some research to get more familiar with it.
You probably have a hobby that people would like to know more about. Articles on hobbies like photography, cooking, music, gardening are some that will get readers.
Attention spans today, especially since the internet, are really short. Give your reader what they are looking for quickly, or they will click away from your webpage. Try to keep your articles around 400 words or so. If they are much longer, your reader could lose interest. If you want to say more, just write another article, being sure to focus on important keywords.
Focus on your keywords while you write, but also remember to use words naturally and don’t pack keywords into your article in an unnatural way. But do put your keyword phrase into your title, first and last paragraph and dispersed within the body of your article. Also be sure to include other related keyword phrases. Not only will this make your article more interesting to read, the search engines will like it better too.
After you have your article written and you are satisfied with it, you need to submit it to the article directories. There are a lot of them, and that is one way that you will get links back to your site, once your article is published at the directories. And as a plus, if you can supply unique variations of your article to other website owners, they will be more interested in adding your article to their website, which means even more links to your site.
If you take your time and write something readable and useful, you will find that many site and especially article directories will want to use your article. Every website owner need to supply their readers with useful information, and if you are the author that gives it to them, you will get the backlinks to your site when they publish your article on their sites.
You may not see results overnight. You need to give the search engines time to spider the sites where your article is located and then update their index. Even 100 inbound links may not make a big difference in your rankings, depending on how competitive your topic is. But your efforts will reward you in long term links and if you continue to submit articles you will find that the work involved more than outweighs the benefits, and is a much better long term marketing strategy than many others.

Good points. I must admit, I am not good in SEO but surprisingly, some of my articles landed on the first page of Google Search. But there was one that was really the Top One on the first page.
Of course, I was happy when happy when I saw it considering that the topic is about a good father asking for help to spread the news and some monetary contribution. I know there were other bloggers who made the similar post.
However, I am not sure who did not happened. I asked some forums and all of them have the same reasons as yours – good writing, keywords and inbound links.
But there are some things that I want to know.
Does outbound link of the blog (not the post itself) really helps? This is because I remember submitting the article only once to a not-so big social bookmarking site. Although my blog is a member of some big sites like Blog Catalog and Mybloglog.
Hope you can give me some additional points.
By the way, this site is very informative.
Thanks.
